Position description:

Position Level: JL6

IT Services within Volvo Group Process & IT is a new organization, with an end-to-end responsibility for all development, delivery and support of IT solution for the Volvo Group.

Shared IT Services is a large, global supporting unit within IT services (several thousand employees and contractors), with staff on all larger IT services locations. The mission of the unit is to manage and develop a set of competence centres and staff functions as well as a global IT consulting organization essential to ensure the overall efficiency of Volvo Group IT Services.

Consultant Manager 
We are now looking for 1 consultant manager within Shared IT Services unit located in Bangalore. As Consultant Manager you will have responsibility for leading and developing a competence based IT consulting group according to defined processes. You will drive the organization through line management who will deliver professional services on request from Volvo Group IT community.
You will report to the Department manager

Role mission & context 
As a Consultant Manager you will own a specific part of the IT Consulting business from a consulting supply perspective and act with the below mission and context: 
·  Lead and develop the regional IT Consulting competence area to provide IT consultants for all our professional roles. 
·  Secure that your organization develops and performs, in line with the IT Consulting strategy, the IT Consulting competence & career model and individual preferences. 
·  Manage, lead and motivate the team. 
·  Create and continuous develop a pool of talents for IT Services 
·  Promote and drive the continued journey of implementing our standardized ways of working

Key responsibilities 
·  Responsible for managing a team comprising of both employees as well as contractors. 
·  Responsible for all administrative tasks related to employees/contractors. 
·  Responsible for E2E contractor lifecycle management. 
·  Establish a good relation with other ITS units like SDUs, VGT, I&O etc and have a good knowledge about their competence/staffing needs 
·  Pro-actively propose professional solutions and services that will improve the business efficiency 
·  Responsible for resource planning & competence management 
·  Develop key resources and talents, as part of talent review/management 
·  Responsible for effective implementation of global methods,processes and tools within the specific competence area. 
·  Building good working relationship with supplier/partner organization. 
·  Responsible for fulfilling the KPIs defined at unit level. 
·  Participate and contribute in unit plan/organization driven initiatives 
·  Responsible for following up on assignment feedbacks with the delivery organization, for own manpower/contractor within the agreed periodicity. 
·  Performing the performance appraisal of the resources as per the Volvo personal business plan process within the agreed periodicity 
·  Have regular communication with the team members either thru one on one or periodic team meetings. 
·  Regularly track and report the status on Actuals vs Planned targets. 
·  Effective implementation of competence activities thru training path and communities. 
·  Periodic assessment of team members , as per the organizational job assessment criteria/guidelines. 
·  Plan for self development activities in discussion with the immediate manager.

Financial Responsibilities 
·  Involved in providing budget related inputs for employees and contractors. 
·  Track and Monitor yearly financial KPIs, for both employees as well as contractors.

·  Responsible for fulfilling the staffing needs either thru externally/thru available resource pool. 
·  Coach and evaluate performance of employees to help them reach their objectives 
·  Plan succession for key positions 
·  Salary setting & recognitions according to company policy 
·  Responsible for security and work environment of employees 
·  Plan and follow up on human resource agreement/SoW for internal employees/ contractor delivery assignments 
·  Adhere to local labour laws/regulations/collective agreements as per country specific requirements, supported by Human Resources & host manager

Required competencies 
·  Genuine interest for developing and coaching people 
·  Experience in the Application development area 
·  Strong experience from IT consulting & relevant competence area 
·  Solid experience from working in a IT delivery organization 
·  Excellent communication & presentation skills is a requirement. 
·  Complete proficiency in English is a requirement 
·  Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other equivalent education
